The Dead Sea Arava Science Center has initiated and takes part in several trans-border projects. The Center is situated between Eilat and the Dead Sea, along 200 km of the mutual border between Israel and Jordan. In order to develop the Arava valley and the Dead Sea on both sides of the border, partnerships and collaborations have been formed and focus on applied research.
The regional collaborations involve Israeli scientists from the Science Center , together with Jordanian or Palestinian scientists from various fields of research. Most studies and projects are funded by the Regional Development and Science Ministries, with several benefiting from international research funds. Most trans-borders research projects are applicable and assist in the development of the Dead Sea and Arava region.
